THE MAIDEN CALL OF MV KONRAD AT MOGADISHU

The maiden call of MV KONRAD at Mogadishu, Somali, marks a significant milestone for Akkon Lines and regional trade connectivity, as the vessel completed the first cargo shipment from Türkiye to Mogadishu, Somalia. This historic call also represents another important step in Akkon Lines’ expanding East Africa network, reinforcing our growing presence and long-term commitment to the region. Through Akkon Lines, Mogadishu is being integrated into an extensive maritime trade network stretching across Europe, the Mediterranean, North Africa and India&Pakistan and sters more efficient access to trading markets across multiple continents.

The occasion was commemorated with a maiden call ceremony attended by government officials, industry representatives, and distinguished guests. As part of the ceremony, commemorative plaques were exchanged between Akkon Lines, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur; Minister of Ports and Marine Transport of Somalia, Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur; Director General Mogadishu Port, Selahattin Batur;Commercial Counsellor of the Republic of Türkiye in Mogadishu and Gokhan Ucer; General Manager of Alport Mogadishu, marking this significant milestone.
